The fingerprint reader is not reacting to touch
If you are unable to get your finger to scan on a clock, there are a few things that we can look at to see what is going on.
If you see a message that says “Service Error” that means that the Identimetrics local server is down, or there is no internet on this clock. To check, make sure you see the normal Time and Attendance screen behind the green box. Also, make sure you can clock in via box, barcode, or manual sign-in. If you get an error message that says “Unknown Error”, you may have a network issue.
If the network seems fine, reach out to support@touchpointk12.com.
If you have the 200 series clock and see a message that says “Scanner Error”, we can try to reset the finger scanner. On the back left corner of the clock, you should see a tiny switch. Hold this down for 5 seconds and let go. You should notice a red light appears on the fingerprint scanner. This should re-establish the connection to the scanner and software.
If that does not work, and you still see “Scanner Error”, reach out to support@touchpointk12.com.
