Red Rover - Setting up a Clock-in Kiosk for Time Tracking

In Red Rover, you can easily set up and configure electronic clock-in Kiosks. Districts can use a PC, tablet, iPad, or other devices to act as a Kiosk for tracking clock events for employees and subs.

In Red Rover, you can easily set up and configure electronic clock-in Kiosks. Districts can use a PC, tablet, iPad, or other devices to act as a Kiosk for tracking clock events for employees and substitutes. 

There are two steps to configure a kiosk:

  1. First, you need to add the kiosk to the kiosk list in Red Rover.
  2. Then, you need to register the kiosk on the physical device at the physical kiosk location. 

  1. How to Set up a Kiosk:

    To set up a Kiosk: 

    1. Go to Settings > Kiosks:

  2. Click the ADD KIOSK button in the upper right. 
  3. In the pop-up window, enter a name for the kiosk, and assign the kiosk to the physical building location it's going to be physically setup at. Then click the ADD KIOSK button. mceclip1.png

    Once you've added the kiosk, you'll then want to register the device 

How to Register a Kiosk:

For registering the kiosk, you'll need two devices:

  1. The device you plan on using AS the physical kiosk device (iPad, Chromebook, etc.)
  2. A computer/laptop to access Red Rover Kiosk settings. 

To Register the Kiosk:

  1. First, on the device that you will be using as that physical kiosk, go to the following URL to open the kiosk registration page:

    https://kiosk.redroverk12.com  

  2. Click the GET STARTED button.



  3. On the next screen to generate the code that you need to register this new device. Then, in the "URL" that's generated, write down the "code" at the end of the URL that's generated. You will use this code on another device

  4. Now, on your other computer, log into Red Rover and go to SETTINGS > KIOSKS.
  5. Click REGISTER next to the Kiosk you'd like to Register.

  6. Now, enter the code displayed on the kiosk device into the Registration CODE box on your computer, and click the REGISTER button.
  7. Within a few seconds, you should see your kiosk device come to life! The code screen will change to the clock-in kiosk screen with the name of the location associated with the kiosk.

Your Kiosk is now Ready!

Your kiosk is now ready to accept time events!  Users will now be able to clock in using the following methods:

  • Employee External ID
  • Employee's BADGE NUMBER, defined on their profile
  • Their physical badge (linked to the Badge Number), using a scanner device of some kind (not included)
  • Employee phone number
