Wrong person shows when user clocks in

Troubleshooting Steps for mismatched badge number

If you are scanning your badge, but someone else is signing in, there are a few things to check out.

Double check that the output of the card is what you think it is by doing the following...

  • Log into Windows on the clock and open Notepad.
  • Scan that badge.
The number that shows in Notepad must be the same number entered into that users Alt Scanning ID field in the Frontline Time and Attendance portal.

If it does read the right number, then check out your Employee page in Time and Attendance to confirm 2 things.

1: The “Alternate Scanning ID” matches your badge number

2: Your badge number does not match with ANY Employee IDs.

If you see a typo in the “Alternate Scanning ID” field, change the number to the correct badge number, and try scanning again. If the number is correct, your badge number most likely matches with another Employee’s ID.

Time and Attendance will check for matching Employee IDs before it checks for Alternate Scanning IDs. If there is a match in the badge and Employee ID, then Time and Attendance will sign that person in, rather than the person whose Alternate Scanning ID matches the badge number. It is important that no badge numbers match any Employee IDs.

If you have a match, assign the employee with a new, non-matching badge. If that is not an option, please contact support@touchpoinkt12.com, and we can add a delimiter to your scans and work around the mis-match.
